Registration

To become a registered applicant or a procurement official in the SAFETY Act website, a user must register for an Applicant account or Procurement Official account, respectively. To register either type of account, a user must complete a registration form.

Applicant accounts and Procurement Official accounts support multiple users. One primary Point of Contact (POC) and up to five secondary POCs can be created for each account and any of these users can be logged into the account at the same time. All registered users for an account will share the same user name; however, each user's email address must be unique within each account. If a user registers for another account, the same email address can be used.

When registering for a new account, the first registrant is the primary POC. All subsequent registrants to the account are secondary registrants. The primary POC can update the primary and all secondary POC information. All secondary POCs can view all other POC information in the account but are restricted to updating only their own information. All POCs can update the Registration Information section at the top of the registration form. Only the primary POC can delete a secondary POC, i.e., a secondary POC cannot delete their own or another POCs information. To delete the primary POC, contact the SAFETY Act Help Desk.

Once a user completes and submits a registration form for an applicant or procurement official, an email is sent to the user with a temporary password and an account is automatically created for that user (or the user is added to an existing account) according to the information provided in the registration form, and users only have the capabilities appropriate for their access level. When logging into the SAFETY Act website for the first time, the user is required to change their password. The POC's name displays in the upper right corner of the page.
