Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Harris Corporation: STAT® Scanner

Harris Corporation provides the STAT®Scanner. The Technology is a software system available in versions 5.x and 6.x. It is designed to act as an internal network vulnerability assessment tool by providing trained system and security administrators with the ability to statistically monitor a set of Automated Information System (AIS) resources to identify configurations indicative of potential vulnerabilities in networked IT systems.


Rapiscan Systems Neutronics and Advanced Technologies Corporation: Substance Specific Inspection Systems (SSIS)

Rapiscan Systems Neutronics and Advanced Technologies Corporation, provides the Substance Specific Inspection Systems (SSIS), a set of non-intrusive inspection systems that can detect, as a group, known explosives, chemical weapons, nuclear devices and other hazardous materials.

Research International, Inc., provides the ASAP II™ collection/detection system.  The ASAP II continuously monitors for the presence of aerosol biohazards and can identify biological agents ranging from protein toxins to whole cells and spores present in the air using a four channel immunoassay system.
