Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.





Company/Technology

Battelle National Biodefense Institute

Approved: March 25, 2022 | Expires: April 30, 2027

The Technology consists of Management and Operations (M&O) Services for the Battelle National Biodefense Institute’s National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC), located at Fort Detrick, Maryland, which is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center. The NBACC was initiated to study the evolving biological threat environment, analyze biological threat agents, and conduct forensic testing of biological pathogens in the event of a terrorist attack.


Houston Astros

Approved: March 25, 2022 | Expires: February 28, 2027

Houston Astros, LLC, Houston Baseball Partners LLC, and HBP Team Holdings, LLC provide the Minute Maid Security Program, a comprehensive, integrated security program that comprises security policies and procedures, and structural, physical, and technological security measures and trained personnel designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate acts of terrorism at Minute Maid Park.


Garrett Metal Detectors

Approved: March 09, 2022 | Expires: March 31, 2027

Garrett Electronics, Inc., d/b/a Garrett Metal Detectors provides Walk-Through Metal Detectors (the "Technology"). The Technology is a line of walk-through metal detectors that use low frequency electromagnetic fields. Detections are made by measuring disturbances in those fields due to the presence of conductive metal. The Technology consists of three main subsystems: a detection unit (electronics), transmit and receive side panels, and auxiliary components. Technology-related user manuals are included. Designation coverage extends to the following models: CS-5000, MS-3500, MT-5500, and PD-6500i. Certification coverage extends to PD-6500i.


Raytheon Company

Raytheon Company and Raytheon Technologies Corporation provides Security Equipment Integration Services. The Technology is a set of services used for the installation and integration of security equipment applications at airport and transportation facilities for detection of explosives and other prohibited items.


ZeroEyes

Approved: March 03, 2022 | Expires: February 28, 2025

ZeroEyes, Inc. provides DeepZero™. The Technology is an artificial intelligence-based platform that integrates with customer video security devices and is used to recognize firearms in video feeds.


Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc.

Approved: March 03, 2022 | Expires: January 31, 2027

Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc., Leidos Security Detection & Automation, Inc., and Leidos, Inc. provide the CT-80, CT-80DR, and the CT-80DR+ Explosives Detection Systems. The Technology is a trio of devices that use dual-energy computed tomography to allow operators to screen baggage and other parcel types for potential explosive threats. The Technology also includes maintenance on the systems when requested by the customer


PSSI Stadium, LLC

Approved: February 24, 2022 | Expires: February 28, 2027

Pittsburgh Steelers Sports, Inc.; Pittsburgh Steelers Sports Holdco LLC; Pittsburgh Steelers LLC; PSSI Stadium LLC; North Shore Entertainment Works, LLC; Pittsburgh Steelers Events Company; and Pittsburgh Steelers Premium Seats, L.P. provide Heinz Field Security Program. The Technology is a comprehensive, integrated security program comprised of security policies and procedures, services and controls systems, and structural, physical, and technological security measures designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate acts of terrorism at Heinz Field.


Show Pros Entertainment Services of Charlotte, Inc

Approved: February 18, 2022 | Expires: December 31, 2026

Show Pros Entertainment Services of Charlotte, Inc. provides Event Security and Crowd Management Advanced Security Event Staff Services. The Technology is advanced security event staff who provide unarmed security personnel in North Carolina in the following areas: specific anti-terrorism functions to prevent, detect, identify, and deter terrorism; access control; credential examination; and entry screening.


Messinger Mortuary

Approved: February 12, 2022 | Expires: February 28, 2022

Messinger Mortuary & Chapel, Inc., d/b/a Messinger Indian School Mortuary, Inc., Messinger Fountain Hills Mortuary, Inc., Messinger Pinnacle Peak Mortuary, Inc., and Messinger Payson Funeral Home, Inc., all Arizona corporations provide Certified Cargo Screening Facilities under the Certified Cargo Screening Program.

Ilitch Holdings, Inc., Olympia Entertainment, Inc., Detroit Tigers, Inc., ODM Parking, LLC, 313 Presents LLC, and ODM Management, LLC together provide the Security Program for Comerica Park. The Technology is a comprehensive integrated security system which is comprised of physical and electronic security measures, tools, and procedures designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate Acts of Terrorism at Comerica Park during Game Day, Non-Game Day (In-Season), Non-Season, and Special Events. The Technology includes the selection and maintenance of electronic security measures and the hiring, vetting, training, and management oversight of its employees and contractors.
