Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.





Company/Technology

The Southern Company

Approved: June 30, 2024 | Expires: June 30, 2029

The Southern Company and its named subsidiaries provide the Cybersecurity Risk Management Program (the "Technology"). The Technology is an enterprise-wide cyber risk mitigation program that advances Company cybersecurity goals in electricity generation, transmission, and distribution, gas services, business corporate services, and other activities. Administered at the board, executive, and management levels, the Technology manages cybersecurity risk through governance, strategic direction, network security and data protection, business assurance, incident response, training, and policies and guidance.


EQ Management, L.L.C.

Approved: June 25, 2024 | Expires: June 30, 2029

EQ Management LLC provides Willis Tower Security and Life Safety Services. The Technology is a security management program designed to plan for and respond to emergencies, control access to, screen packages, and parcels entering, and provide for the evacuation of Willis Tower. The Technology also includes physical security, security plans and procedures, emergency response; training, and coordination with Federal, State, and local law enforcement.


Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc.

Approved: June 20, 2024 | Expires: June 30, 2029

Kansas City Chiefs Football Club, Inc. provides the Arrowhead Stadium Security Program. The Technology is a comprehensive program composed of security planning, physical and electronic security equipment, emergency planning processes and procedures, and trained personnel. The Technology applies to the entire Arrowhead Stadium property.


Chicago Park District and ASM Global Convention Center Management, LLC

Approved: May 13, 2024 | Expires: April 30, 2029

Chicago Park District and ASM Global Convention Center Management, LLC, provide the Soldier Field Security Program, a comprehensive program comprised of physical and electronic security equipment, tools, emergency planning processes and procedures, and properly trained personnel, for the Soldier Field Footprint, including the seating bowl and suites, gates, loading dock, inner and secondary perimeters, field, locker rooms, areas housing utility and mechanical systems, command center, and parking and parkland areas. It is designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate Acts of Terrorism, and it is the implementation of the National Football League’s (NFL) Best Practices for Stadium Security. The Technology is implemented and maintained by proprietary and contract personnel under the supervision of the Applicant to provide comprehensive security coverage during public, ticketed events and during non-event days.


K2 Solutions, Inc.

Approved: May 03, 2024 | Expires: April 30, 2029

K2 Solutions, Inc., provides Person-Borne Explosive Detection Canine Teams. The Technology is the use of proprietary explosive detection canine teams to detect explosives carried by individuals, e.g., in backpacks and/or clothing, by tracking the odor from explosive material to a moving source. The Technology is also used to locate explosives on stationary objects. The Technology also includes hiring and vetting of personnel, and policies and procedures used for its deployment.


Experior Group, Inc.

Approved: April 29, 2024 | Expires: May 31, 2029

Experior Group, Inc. provides Red Ball Drills. The Technology is a consultation service that assesses the effectiveness of customers’ safety and security programs by combining a document review, site visit, and role-playing exercises to inform recommendations. The Technology is conducted with a methodology that avoids traumatizing participants through the use of a red ball instead of fake weapons. The Technology also includes the vetting of personnel provisioning the Technology and deliverables produced as part of the assessments of customer security programs.


Xtract One Technologies, Inc.

Approved: April 25, 2024 | Expires: April 30, 2029

Xtract One Technologies Inc., Xtract One Detection Ltd., and Xtract One (US) Technologies Inc., provide the Xtract One Multi-Sensor Gateway, a walk-through metal detector for screening of people without divestment of personal belongings.


The Boeing Company

Approved: April 25, 2024 | Expires: April 30, 2029

The Boeing Company provides the e-Enabled Architecture (the Technology). The Technology includes secure networking capabilities that can be deployed in support of commercial aviation applications and operations.


United Parcel Service Co.

Approved: April 25, 2024 | Expires: March 31, 2029

United Parcel Service Co., operates its Secure Skies Program, which is a comprehensive threat detection, prevention, and mitigation system for the security of aircraft, cargo, facilities, and personnel involved in the shipment and proper chain of custody of cargo by air for use with scheduled United Parcel Service (UPS) flights within the United States (U.S.) and its territories, as well as flights originating in the U.S. bound to non-U.S. locations (the Technology).


AeroDefense

Approved: April 16, 2024 | Expires: April 30, 2029

Drone Go Home, LLC d/b/a AeroDefense provides AirWarden™. The Technology is an alert systems designed to detect and classify unmanned aerial systems that have entered protected airspace. The Technology also includes site surveys, installation, and a user guide.
