Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Lockheed Martin Corporation provides Dry Filter Unit Systems and Services (DFUS&S)). The Technology is a blower and filter unit which continuously traps airborne particulate matter for customer analysis. This Technology is provided in three configurations: the DFU 1000, the DFU 2000, and the DFU Executive. The Technology also includes consumable supplies, and support services including deployment and installation, sample collection and preparation, field maintenance, and training.

The Technology is a customized suite of training services and program support designed to train airport security personnel in the screening of persons and packages for TSA Contract HSTS01-09-D-OSO900. Lockheed Martin Corporation provides its Biometric Credentialing Systems & Services (BCS&S), an integrated system of hardware and software which provide a biometric credentialing capability that assists the customer in identifying and authenticating the identity of a personal identify verification card, thereby preventing unauthorized access of secured areas.

Lockheed Martin Corporation's MetroGuard™, for public facility protection applications, provides an early warning of chemical, biological or radiological agent release through the use of a network of single-point Remote Detector Units (RDU).  The release event is communicated by the RDU to one or more base station control computers which receive and process sensor data for system operators and first responders, thus enabling implementation of response protocols.

Lockheed Martin Corporation provides Systems Engineering and Integration Services (SEIS) Maritime Integrated Domain Awareness Solution(MIDAS). The MIDAS™ System provides domain/situational awareness on a geographic display by accessing and delivering information obtained from a variety of COTS surveillance sensors (e.g., cameras, radars, and CBRN sensors).

The Lockheed Martin Corporation provides the Biological Aerosol Warning System (BAWS). BAWS is a networked array of single-point sensor nodes that can alert a user to the presence of biological particulates by discriminating particle sizes of drawn-in air, processing the sensor input, capturing particulate samples on a dry filter, and reporting the presence of these particles to the proper decision makers.
