Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Raytheon Company provides Clear View™ Security Solution. The Technology is a software security management system for use in the management of security systems that can be used to protect critical infrastructure, border security, and other homeland security needs.


Raytheon Company, and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC

Approved: November 04, 2011 | Expires: November 30, 2016

Raytheon Company, and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company, provide Security Equipment Integration (SEI) services. The Technology is a set of services used for the installation and integration of security equipment applications at airport and transportation facilities for the detection of explosives and other prohibited items. The services are performed in accordance with airport, local, State, and national building codes, and in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) regulations and security equipment specifications and to other Federal and State specifications/regulatory requirements.


Raytheon Company and Raytheon UTD Inc.

Raytheon Company and Raytheon UTD Inc. provide the Controlled Impact Rescue Tool. The Technology is a hand-held excavation tool for emergency rescue in urban environments.


Raytheon Company

Approved: July 27, 2011 | Expires: August 31, 2016

Raytheon Company, provides Screening Partnership Program Services. The Technology consists of the provision of trained and skilled personnel to operate screening equipment, conduct pre-board passenger screening, and carry-on and checked luggage and accessible property screening to prevent prohibited items from entering the sterile area of an airport.


The Raytheon Company: Perimeter Intrusion Detection System (PIDS)

The Raytheon Company provides the Perimeter Intrusion Detection System. The Technology is a systems-engineering and integration service that is designed to deploy and support systems that detect, assess, track, and facilitate response to perimeter intrusions at ports, airports, sensitive buildings or other customer sites. The Technology may also include the following: program management, system design, subcontractor selection, system integration, system maintenance plans, testing services, training, warranty and maintenance services, and technical manuals.

Approved: October 06, 2010 | Expires: February 29, 2012

Raytheon Company and its wholly owned subsidiary Raytheon Technical Services Company, LLC, provide Private Screening Services as part of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Screening Partnership Program (SPP). The Technology consists of trained and certified personnel who conduct passenger, airport employee, and baggage screening in accordance with TSA guidelines and standard operating procedures. The Technology also includes operation, training, and maintenance as related to airport screening equipment. Certification of the Technology is specific to deployment at Key West International Airport (Florida).

Raytheon Company and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC provide Mail Processing and Screening Services. The Technology is an integrated set of services, equipment, and personnel designed to counter and guard against exploitation of mail systems to perpetrate an attack. The Technology is customizable and includes the following elements: planning, engineering, development, equipment, personnel, operations, and maintenance. It is deployed at specified National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) installations in accordance with contract requirements.

Approved: September 16, 2009 | Expires: October 31, 2014

Raytheon Company provides the Advanced Spectroscopic Portal – L (ASP-L). The Technology is a passive radiation detection system designed to be integrated into a sports utility vehicle. The Technology also includes attendant installation, training, and maintenance services as well as a warranty and all attendant documentation and manuals.


JPS Communications: Audio Control Unit (ACU) product line

Approved: December 18, 2008 | Expires: January 31, 2014

JPS Communications, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Raytheon Company, provides the Audio Control Unit (ACU) product line, which consists of the ACU-1000, the ACU-2000 IP, the ACU-M, the ACU-T, and the TRP-1000 (the “Technology”). The Technology allows existing, disparate communications systems to cross-connect with each other. The Technology also includes customer training services, warranty services, and all technical manuals.


Raytheon Company : Criminal Information Sharing Services

Approved: February 13, 2008 | Expires: March 31, 2013

Raytheon Company provides Criminal Information Sharing Services. The Technology is a set of systems engineering and integration services that are used to aid the creation of a secure network system that enables law enforcement agencies to share cross jurisdictional information to provide assistance in the prevention or investigation of Acts of Terrorism.
