Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

The Boeing Company provides the Virtual Mission Board. The Technology is a deployable multi-touch display system that enables, supports, and improves operations and training by immersing users in a virtual representation of their actual or simulated operating environment.

Approved: June 08, 2012 | Expires: June 30, 2017

The Boeing Company, Insitu, Inc. and Insitu Pacific Limited provide the Unmanned Aerial System (ScanEagleTM or NightEagleTM), (the “Technology”). The Technology is an autonomous aerial reconnaissance and surveillance system that can be deployed from land or sea. The Technology also includes deployment, sustainment, maintenance, training, and several other repair and report services.

The Boeing Company provides the Security Monitoring Infrastructure System (SMIS). The Technology is a software suite which provides cyber security situational awareness and network security monitoring. The Technology also includes training, support, and all associated technical documentation.

The Boeing Company provides Boeing’s Virtual Port – Situational Awareness Systems for Maritime Domain Applications in Support of the Port of Long Beach. The Technology interfaces with third-party systems to provide geo-spatial and domain awareness in a Common Operating Picture by combining real-time data feeds, information from data mining, and quality Geographic Information Systems information for the Port and surrounding areas. The Technology also includes training, technical support, and technical documentation.

The Boeing Company provides the Visual Security Operations Console (VSOC) Sentinel. The Technology integrates a border, infrastructure, facility, or site's surveillance systems, physical security systems, communications systems, and information systems into a Common Operating Picture to enable decision makers and first responders to interdict or mitigate the effects of a terrorist attack. The Technology also includes technical documentation, systems engineering and integration, installation, training and maintenance services.

The Boeing Company provides HazNet. The Technology is a fully integrated end-to-end operational system, designed to support emergency management organizations and to homeland security and law enforcement entities. The Technology also includes the provision of all technical documentation, including requirements, design, configuration, interface controls, testing, operation, training, maintenance, and warranties. Operational support services are also offered as part of the Technology.

The Boeing Company provides Cyber Secure Smart Grid Integration Services using the Secure Smart Grid Common Operating Environment. The Technology is software, architecture design, and associated integration services that provide interoperability and multiple levels of cyber security to protect the Smart Grid Cyber Infrastructure. The Technology also includes technical documentation, including requirements, design, configuration, interface controls, testing, operations, training, maintenance, and warranties.

The Boeing Company provides Security System Equipment Installation and Integration Services. The Technology is a system comprised of services to design, install, integrate, and test security screening equipment used to screen small parcels, baggage, non-containerized cargo, and persons in transportation nodes (such as airports and non-containerized cargo screening facilities) using customer defined specifications (in accordance with TSA SESI services procurement, Solicitation Number HSTS04-08-R-CT1157). The Technology also includes elements of program management, procurement of products and services, design, installation, test and evaluation, and operations support including training, maintenance, and documentation.

The Boeing Company provides Enhanced Security Flight Deck Door Technologies (the "Technology"). The Technology is specialized flight deck doors and other features designed to protect the flight crew and certain flight critical equipment on commercial aircraft. The Technology also includes services such as design, manufacturing, installation, and retrofitting as well as training and maintenance.

The Boeing Company provides Systems Engineering and Integration Services for SBInet Border Security. These system engineering and integration services provide border, infrastructure, facility, and site security solutions for the Federal Secure Border Initiative Network (SBInet) Program.
