Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. The Technology is a topical lotion used to neutralize and/or remove chemical weapon, blister, or T-2 agents that have come in contact with the skin. The Technology also includes individual sealed applicators impregnated with the lotion and instructions for proper use.
Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation Approved: August 29, 2011 \| Expires: September 30, 2016 Grumman Systems Corporation provides Secure Broadband Wireless Communications Infrastructure (SWBCI) systems engineering and integration services. The Technology provides design, recommendations, and procures equipment; installs, tests, and fully integrates user-required network and applications into live operating environments.
ASIS International Approved: August 29, 2011 \| Expires: September 30, 2016 ASIS International, a not-for-profit professional association incorporated in Delaware and an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Development Organization (SDO) has developed DHS National Standards. The Technology is a DHS National Standard, ASIS SPC.1-2009, “Organizational Resilience: Security, Preparedness and Continuity Management Systems – Requirements with Guidance for Use.” The standard(s) have been reviewed, formally adopted, and encouraged for promulgation by the Department of Homeland Security (“DHS”) according to the procedures set forth by the DHS National Standards Program and the DHS Standards Council.

Approved: August 26, 2011 \| Expires: September 30, 2016 Mistral Security, Inc. provides its Blast Containment Receptacles, which are trash receptacles designed to absorb the blast energy and resist fragments of an explosive device concealed within the receptacle (the “Technology”).
Implant Sciences Corporation Approved: August 26, 2011 \| Expires: September 30, 2014 Implant Sciences Corporation provides Quantum Sniffer™ QS-B220 Benchtop Explosives Trace Detector. The Technology is a device designed to detect trace levels of explosives vapor and nanogram quantities of explosives particulates.
Cepheid, Inc. Approved: August 16, 2011 \| Expires: September 30, 2016 Cepheid, Inc. provides GeneXpert®. The Technology is an Anthrax identification system, which uses polymerase chain reaction (PCR) to amplify the genes of a given sample. The systems self contained cartridges house the PCR reagents and protect the user from cross contamination. The Technology also includes installation, maintenance, and operator training, as outlined in Cepheid, Inc.'s GeneXpert® Field System Operator Manual.
