Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

FedEx Trade Networks Transport & Brokerage, Inc.

FedEx Trade Networks Transport & Brokerage, Inc. (FedEx Trade Networks) provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities. The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, are secure facilities established in accordance with directives issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the screening and securing of cargo which will be transported on passenger aircraft. The Technology includes, in accordance with TSA directives, maintaining a security plan that limits access to secure cargo screening areas, training and vetting employees in accordance with TSA guidance, adherence to all TSA-specified chain of custody rules for this cargo, and use of TSA-approved methods and/or equipment for the screening of cargo. The Technology is limited to only those locations in possession of current TSA certifications for cargo screening facilities.


Cargo Screening Services (CSS)

Approved: August 31, 2010 | Expires: September 30, 2015

Cargo Screening Services (CSS) provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities. Duos Technologies, Inc.

Duos Technologies, Inc. provides Praesidium®. The Technology is a browser based sensor detection suite that processes and analyzes incoming video and sensor feeds utilizing algorithms to detect activities and events as defined by the customer. The Technology also includes quick reference guides, user manuals, customer training, and help desk services.


John S. Connor, Inc.

John S. Connor, Inc., Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities. McNeil Security, Inc. provides Screening Partnership Program Security Services. The Technology is airport checkpoint screening services conducted under the TSA's Screening Partnership Program (SPP). The Technology includes screening persons and baggage entering and inside the airport sterile area, preventative maintenance of equipment, and executive security service activities such as Variable Intermodal Prevention and Response (VIPR). The Technology may also include any additional services the TSA defines in its statement of work.


Guardsmark, LLC, Guardsmark International, LLC, and Guardsmark (Puerto Rico), LLC

Approved: August 10, 2010 | Expires: August 31, 2015

Guardsmark, LLC, Guardsmark International, LLC, and Guardsmark (Puerto Rico), LLC provide Comprehensive Security Services. The Technology provides unarmed security guard services and security assessment services for Government, public, commercial, and industrial facilities. The Technology also includes the qualified personnel, hiring process, and training program required to ensure effective delivery of the Technology.


MCFSA, Ltd. d/b/a Metroplex Control Systems (MCS), Argyle Security, Inc., ISI Security Group, Inc., and Metroplex Commercial Fire and Security Alarms, Inc.

MCFSA, Ltd. d/b/a Metroplex Control Systems (MCS), Argyle Security, Inc., ISI Security Group, Inc., and Metroplex Commercial Fire and Security Alarms, Inc. provide Electronic Security Installation and Integration Services. The Technology is the installation and integration of electronic security systems in commercial buildings, which provide access control, alarm monitoring, and situational awareness. The Technology also includes the operating manuals and deliverables associated with these systems, maintenance and warranty services.


NVision Solutions Inc.

Approved: July 23, 2010 | Expires: August 31, 2015

NVision Solutions Inc. provides the HazNet Emergency Management System. The Technology is a Web-based software tool that provides a first responder decision support system integrated with geospatial information technology. The Technology also includes installation and customer training services.


The Boeing Company

Approved: July 22, 2010 | Expires: July 31, 2015

The Boeing Company provides the Visual Security Operations Console (VSOC) Sentinel. The Technology integrates a border, infrastructure, facility, or site's surveillance systems, physical security systems, communications systems, and information systems into a Common Operating Picture to enable decision makers and first responders to interdict or mitigate the effects of a terrorist attack. The Technology also includes technical documentation, systems engineering and integration, installation, training and maintenance services.


American Science and Engineering, Inc.

Approved: July 22, 2010 | Expires: July 13, 2013

American Science and Engineering, Inc. provides OmniView Gantry. The Technology is a high-energy X-ray system that identifies threat items in cargo containers. The Technology may optionally include the integration of a third-party radiation detector. For this optional component, the Seller provides only integration services. The Technology otherwise includes the following: 1) site survey and installation services; 2) operator training (including equipment use training and image analysis training); 3) warranty and preventative maintenance services; 4) the trained personnel who provide all technical, maintenance, and training services; and, 5) all technical documentation.
