Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

The Technology is designed to detect explosives and other prohibited items, and is used for the screening of carry-on luggage at airports. The Technology includes technical manuals, warranty and maintenance services, site surveys, installation and on-site support, and training services.
Analogic Corporation Approved: March 25, 2020 | Expires: April 30, 2025 Analogic Corporation provides the Checkpoint CT Baggage Screening System (ConneCT or the Technology). The Technology is designed to detect explosives and other prohibited items, and is used for the screening of carry-on luggage at airports or other screening checkpoints. The Technology includes technical manuals, warranty and maintenance services, site surveys, installation and on-site support, and training services.
Analogic Corporation Approved: June 22, 2017 | Expires: June 30, 2020 Analogic Corporation provides the Checkpoint CT Baggage Screening System (“ConneCT” or the “Technology”). The Technology is designed to detect explosives and other prohibited items and is used for the screening of carry-on luggage at airports or other screening checkpoints. The Technology includes all technical manuals, warranty and maintenance services, site surveys, installation and on-site support, and training services, as well as the qualifications of the personnel used to provide these services.
Analogic Corporation Approved: February 07, 2014 | Expires: February 28, 2019 Analogic Corporation provides the Carry-On Baggage Real-Time Assessment (“COBRA™”) Model Number AN6980 (the “Technology”). The Technology is an X-ray based detection system for the screening of carry-on items. The Technology also includes all technical manuals, warranty and maintenance services, site surveys, installation and on-site support, and training services.
Analogic Corporation Approved: March 08, 2010 | Expires: December 31, 2013 Analogic Corporation provides the Carry-On Baggage Real-Time Assessment (COBRA), an automated explosives and weapons detection system for the screening of carry-on items at screening checkpoints. The Technology uses volumetric Computer Tomography (CT)-based X-rays and detection algorithms to scan objects, detect a variety of threats, and display high-resolution 3-D bag images for on-screen evaluation.
Analogic Corporation: Carry-On Baggage Real-Time Assessment (COBRA) Approved: December 03, 2008 | Expires: January 31, 2014 Analogic Corporation provides the Carry-On Baggage Real-Time Assessment (COBRA), an automated explosives and weapons detection system for the screening of carry-on items at screening checkpoints. The Technology uses volumetric Computer Tomography (CT)-based Xrays and detection algorithms to scan evaluate objects and detects a variety of threats, and displays high-resolution, 3-D bag images for on-screen resolution.
