Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Cangene: Vaccinia Immune Globulin Intravenous (Human) (VIG) Approved: June 29, 2006 | Expires: June 30, 2011 Cangene provides Vaccinia Immune Globulin Intravenous (Human) (VIG), a sterile antibody product that can be used for the treatment of adverse reactions to the smallpox vaccine.  VIG could also be used on a voluntary basis, in the event of an Act of Terrorism, for other uses relating to exposure to the smallpox virus.
