Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Evolv Technology Approved: January 07, 2025 | Expires: January 31, 2028 Evolv Technology provides Evolv eXpedite™ (the “Technology”). The Technology is an automated X-ray screening device to inspect hand-carried bags for concealed firearms, knives, and improvised explosive device (IED) components. The Technology uses artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) computer vision algorithms for automated threat detection of the X-ray images to identify potential threat items concealed in an individual’s bag or personal items. The Technology is intended for use at entries to access-controlled facilities, such as sports and entertainment venues, schools, hospitals, commercial or government offices, and surface transportation hubs. The Technology includes installation, operator training, software updates, warranty and maintenance services, technical manuals, and documentation.
Evolv Technology Approved: March 29, 2022 | Expires: March 31, 2027 Evolv Technologies, Inc., d/b/a Evolv Technology provides Evolv Express®. The Technology is a relocatable, non-conventional Walk-Through Metal Detector that screens individuals moving at a walking pace who do not divest their handheld personal items. The Technology is used to detect concealed metal-based weapons to prevent items with risk of harm from being carried into a venue or event. The Technology also includes initial site survey and installation, training and manuals, periodic software updates, support services, and maintenance, with options for systems integration.
Evolv Technology Approved: January 24, 2020 | Expires: February 28, 2022 Evolv Technology provides Evolv Express (the "Technology"). The Technology is a walk-through metal detector to detect concealed metallic materials and assist operators in detecting and locating prohibited items that could be used as a weapon. The Technology screens individuals carrying hand-carried bags and smaller personal items traversing the detector at walking pace. The Technology also includes support services, documentation, and maintenance, with options for systems integration.
