The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. Lenel Systems International, Inc. provides the IdentityDefender. The Technology is a software package that facilitates the issuance of identity credentials to accepted personal. It is done in a secure manner and makes use of a modular design. The Technology consists of four components: IdentityDirector, IdentityCollector, IdentityProducer, and IdentityActivator. The Technology also includes step-by-step wizards, secure integration with external databases, and renewal of full support for the shared services model.
