The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. Michael Stapleton Associates’ SmartTech and Explosive Detection Services offers both the SmartTech Explosive Detection System (“SmartTech”), a remote system that allows for the transmission of X-ray images and video to remotely located bomb technicians for immediate analysis of conventional explosives and weapons, and Explosives Detection Canine/ Handler teams (“EDCs”), explosives detection services used to detect and counter conventional and peroxide-based explosives. The Technology also includes the recruitment, hiring, screening, and training of the employees providing these services.
