Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. Morphix Technologies, Inc., a Virginia corporation, provides the TraceX Explosive Detection Kit (the "Technology"). The Technology is a single use, colorimetric detector capable of detecting both trace and bulk levels of common explosive chemical families including peroxides, chlorates, bromates, nitroaromatics, nitramines, nitrate esters, inorganic nitrates, acids, and bases. The Technology includes operating instructions and a user training video.

Morphix Technologies, Inc. provides the Chameleon, a passive, colorimetric chemical detection device designed to detect gaseous or vapor chemicals and aid first responders and military personnel by identifying toxic chemicals during a terrorist event or natural disaster (the "Technology"). No liquid sample is required. The Technology includes a re-usable armband which can hold up to ten cassettes, each of which detects a particular toxic chemical and can be used for a 24-hour period of exposure. Cassettes contain material that changes color upon contact with specific concentrations of hazardous or toxic chemicals. The Technology also includes a training kit to aid users, operating instructions, and technical documentation.
