Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

MorphoTrust USA Inc. Approved: October 12, 2021 | Expires: September 30, 2026 IDEMIA Identity & Security USA LLC, provides Universal Enrollment Services ("UES") (the "Technology"). The Technology consists of hardware, software, and services necessary to provide and maintain enrollment services and centers, including such services as gathering biographic information, capturing biometric data, and issuing credentials.
MorphoTrust USA Inc. Approved: September 23, 2019 | Expires: October 31, 2024 IDEMIA Identity & Security USA LLC provides Enhanced Credential Authentication Technology (E-CAT). E-CAT is a suite of products that automatically verifies multiple security features on identification documents such as drivers’ licenses, passports, and other common forms of identification, to further enhance the security of the screening process. The Technology is for use by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA) under TSA Contract HSTS04-14-D-CT2002.

The Technology is a suite of products that, taken together, allow for the acquisition of information contained in personal identity documents, and for comparison of the acquired information against relevant document databases.
MorphoTrust USA Inc. Approved: August 22, 2012 | Expires: September 30, 2014 MorphoTrust USA, Inc., provides Document Authentication. The Technology comprises a suite of hardware and software products that, taken together, allow for the acquisition of information contained in personal identity documents and comparison of the information against relevant document databases. The Technology is used to aid in screening and authenticating a variety of identity documents such as might be presented to gain access to secure areas or information. Included in the Technology are software and document database upgrades as well as product-related technical documents, training materials, and manuals. This Designation and Certification will expire on September 30, 2014.
