Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.





Company/Technology

Pacers Basketball, LLC

Approved: September 26, 2024 | Expires: September 29, 2027

Pacers Basketball, LLC, and Fieldhouse Management, LLC, provide the Pacers Sports and Entertainment Security Program. The Technology is an integrated system of protective measures designed to detect, deter, and respond to acts of terrorism at the Pacers Sports and Entertainment Campus. The Technology is deployed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during National Basketball Association (NBA) and Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) events, entertainments and businesses events, non-NBA sporting events, and non-event days.


National Basketball Association

Approved: August 31, 2020 | Expires: September 30, 2025

The National Basketball Association ("NBA" provides the NBA Arena Security Standards, NBA Security Audits, and NBA Security Training and Awareness Programs (the "Technology"). The Technology is a comprehensive set of mandatory security standards for team and arena management designed to deter and defend against terrorist attacks at venues where NBA games are played, in addition to other general security risks. The Technology is implemented through the NBA Security Audits and NBA Security Training and Awareness Programs, and includes the hiring, vetting, qualifications, and training of NBA security personnel in connection with the three components of the Technology.


Madison Square Garden Company

Approved: May 17, 2017 | Expires: May 31, 2020

The Madison Square Garden Company provides Madison Square Garden Arena Security Program (the “Technology”). The Technology is a comprehensive, integrated security program comprised of security policies and procedures, and physical and technological security measures designed to detect, deter, prevent, respond to, and mitigate acts of terrorism at Madison Square Garden and The Theater at Madison Square Garden at 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY. The Technology, a 24-hour/7-days per week security program, is deployed during National Basketball Association events, National Hockey League events, Women’s National Basketball Association events, and other sports and entertainment events, as well as non-event days.


National Basketball Association

Approved: April 06, 2017 | Expires: August 31, 2020

The National Basketball Association ("NBA") provides the NBA Arena Security Standards, NBA Security Audits, and NBA Security Training Programs (the "Technology"). The Technology is a comprehensive set of security standards for team and arena management designed to deter and defend against terrorist attacks at venues where NBA games are played, in addition to other general security risks. The Technology is implemented through the NBA Security Audits and NBA Security Training Programs, and includes the hiring, vetting, qualifications, and training of NBA security personnel in connection with the three components of the Technology.
