Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. The Technology also includes training for end-users.
Raytheon Company Approved: March 02, 2017 \| Expires: February 28, 2022 Raytheon Company and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC provide Security Equipment Integration (“SEI”) services. The Technology is a set of services used for the installation and integration of security equipment applications at airport and transportation facilities for the detection of explosives and other prohibited items. The services are performed in accordance with airport, local, State, and national building codes, and in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security’s (“DHS”) Transportation Security Administration’s (“TSA”) regulations and security equipment specifications and to other Federal and State specifications/regulatory requirements.
The Raytheon Company Approved: October 07, 2016 \| Expires: November 30, 2021 The Raytheon Company provides Perimeter Intrusion Detection System. The Technology is a systems-engineering and integration service that is designed to deploy and support systems that detect, assess, track, and facilitate response to perimeter intrusions at ports, airports, sensitive buildings or other customer sites. The Technology may also include the following: program management, system design, subcontractor selection, system integration, system maintenance plans, testing services, training, warranty and maintenance services, and technical manuals.
Raytheon Company and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC Approved: August 25, 2015 \| Expires: August 31, 2020 Raytheon Company and Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC provide Mail Processing and Screening Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is an integrated set of services, equipment, and personnel designed to counter and guard against exploitation of mail systems to perpetrate an attack. The Technology is customizable and includes the following elements: planning, engineering, development, equipment, personnel, operations, and maintenance. It is deployed at specified National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (“NGA”) installations in accordance with contract requirements.
Raytheon Company Approved: February 26, 2015 \| Expires: March 31, 2020 Raytheon Company provides Controlled Impact Rescue Tool (the “Technology”). The Technology is a tool that is designed for use by Urban Search and Rescue teams during rescue operations where people become trapped under rubble. It uses multiple blank ammunition cartridges to drive a specially designed impact head that applies a concentrated shock load into concrete barriers. Successive impacts pulverize the concrete locally, making it easier to remove enough concrete to create a man-size hole through a wall.

The Technology is a set of systems engineering and integration services used to aid in the creation of a secure network system that enables law enforcement agencies to share cross jurisdictional information to provide assistance in the prevention or investigation of Acts of Terrorism. The Technology also includes a number of components which assist in the design and construction of an environment allowing for information sharing, integration of existing information into the collaborative environment, and migration of existing systems into an architecture that will enhance sharing of criminal or terrorist information.
Raytheon Co. and Raytheon UTD Approved: April 19, 2013 \| Expires: April 30, 2018 Raytheon Company provides Vulnerability Assessments and Mitigation Services. The Technology provides vulnerability and threat assessments, security planning services, and technical assistance primarily to the Department of Defense (“DOD”), Defense Threat Reduction Agency (“DTRA”), and emergency management training for the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”). The Technology also includes all technical manuals and the selection, hiring, training, and qualifications of the personnel used to perform these services.

The Technology also includes system integration and customization services, training services, system warranty and maintenance, and all related technical manuals.
