Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Ryder System, Inc. provides Global Supply Chain Security Program (the "Technology"). The Technology consists of physical, technical, and procedural security measures for secure shipment of goods transported across international borders into the United States from non-U.S. locations. The policies, procedures, and implementation of the Technology comply with, and are certified under, the voluntary U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) program. The Technology includes development of policies and procedures, hiring and vetting of employees and third-party contractors, training, and quality assurance over implementation of the Technology.

Ryder System, Inc. and Ryder Truck Rental, Inc. provide FMS Vehicle Rental, Lease, and Sales Customer Screening Program (the "Technology"). The Technology is a business process that enables the screening against open source watch lists of customers of the Applicant’s sales, leasing, or rental vehicle business prior to engaging in a transaction together with enhanced measures such as the restriction or closing of its business during times of heightened threats.

The Technology is a set of policies and procedures for secure delivery of goods being imported or delivered into the United States from international locations. The Technology includes development of policies and procedures, hiring and vetting of employees and third-party contractors, training, and quality assurance over implementation of the Technology. The policies, procedures, and implementation of the Technology comply with, and are certified under, the voluntary U.S. Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (“C-TPAT”) program.
