Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. The National Biometric Security Project: Biometric Testing and Evaluation Process Approved: March 27, 2007 | Expires: November 30, 2010 The National Biometric Security Project provides the Biometric Testing and Evaluation Process (BTEP), a method of testing biometric identification products and a listing that declares the suitability of those products for homeland and conventional security applications. The Technology is designed to certify that biometric identification products meet a variety of industry best standards.
