Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. Approved: December 18, 2008 | Expires: January 31, 2014 Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. - Conformity Assessment, Testing, Training, and Standards Development Services. The Technology is a set of services designed to help ensure public safety related to products, materials, or systems with the objective of preventing, detecting, identifying or deterring Acts of Terrorism or limiting the harm that such acts might cause. Qualifications of personnel, hiring, screening, training, and the procedures used in the provision of the Technology are all included as part of the Technology.
