Certifications

For Certification, a technology must have demonstrated confidence of continued effectiveness: i.e., it will perform as intended, conform to the seller’s specifications, and is safe for use as intended. In addition to the benefits provided under Designation, Certification allows Sellers of antiterrorism technologies to assert the Government Contractor Defense that immunizes Sellers from liability for claims arising from acts of terrorism. Technologies that receive Certification will be also placed on an Approved Products List for Homeland Security. Designation is a prerequisite for Certification.

The Technology is the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of an Integrated Logistics Support program to sustain Government-certified Explosives Detection Systems (EDS), Multiplexing Equipment (MUX), and associated Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) as deployed and operated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP provides Risk Management and Mitigation Planning Services. The Technology identifies risks to Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources, measures the impact of those risks, and develops plans to mitigate the identified risks. It is used to help Federal, State, and local government clients, as well as commercial clients and not-for-profit organizations to improve management of continuity of operations. The Technology also includes the selection, vetting, training, and management of the personnel who perform the above services, and all attendant manuals and deliverables. The Certification currently applies only to deployments of the Technology to maritime CIKR.

Mydatt Services Inc., d.b.a. Valor Security Services, provides Valor Security Services. The Technology is physical security project management and provides trained security officers at retail commercial facilities. The Technology also includes training manuals, guides, and other materials.

Microsemi Corporation - RF Integrated Solutions provides the BIS-WDS®. The Technology is a millimeter wave detector designed to image suspicious objects present on a subject person from a stand-off distance. It can be used alone or integrated with other security devices to create a more complete security solution. Maintenance, warranty services, selection and qualification of distributors, spare parts sales, and all relevant technical documentation are included in the Technology.

The Technology may include installation of closed-circuit television (CCTV), access control, physical security methods, intrusion detection systems, and communications and monitoring systems. The Technology also includes work products such as recommendations, reports, and all attendant manuals and technical documentation.

The Technology is a set of services used for the installation and integration of security equipment applications at airport and transportation facilities for the detection of explosives and other prohibited items. The services are performed in accordance with airport, local, State, and national building codes, and in compliance with the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) regulations and security equipment specifications and to other Federal and State specifications/regulatory requirements.

BlastGard® International, Inc. provides BlastWrap®. The Technology can be deployed to mitigate (i.e., contain) the effects of an explosion or as a protective layer to absorb energy and possibly protect assets from damage caused by an external explosion.
