Designations

For Designation as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology (QATT), a technology must demonstrate effectiveness during operational testing or through prior use. Designation provides limited liability for third-party claims arising out of the deployment of the QATT with respect to an "Act of Terrorism." The maximum liability is determined by DHS, and the Seller is required to maintain liability insurance at that level. Other protections include immunity from punitive damages. A full Designation normally lasts for 5 years and can be renewed. Any technology deployed during its period of Designation is protected for the lifetime of its deployment.

The Technology allows existing, disparate communications systems to cross-connect with each other. The Technology also includes customer training services, warranty services, and all technical manuals.

Analogic Corporation: Carry-On Baggage Real-Time Assessment (COBRA)

Analogic Corporation provides the Carry-On Baggage Real-Time Assessment (COBRA), an automated explosives and weapons detection system for the screening of carry-on items at screening checkpoints. The Technology uses volumetric Computer Tomography (CT)-based Xrays and detection algorithms to scan evaluate objects and detects a variety of threats, and displays high-resolution, 3-D bag images for on-screen resolution.

Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc.: CT-80XL EDS

Reveal Imaging Technologies, Inc. provides the CT-80XL EDS. The Technology is used to move loaded baggage by way of a conveyor belt into a tunnel where it is scanned for explosives by a computed tomography (CT) array. The scanning process consists of several stages: ToTALScan, Static CT Slice, X-ray Scan, SnapScan, and Targeted Zoom. This Technology is a variant of an existing SAFETY Act covered device modified to work with larger objects.

The Technology is provided specifically to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the P28 section of the U.S.-Mexico border. It is a secure information technology system for data transmission between the central P28 Command, Control, and Communication (C3) center, mobile C3 systems, mobile and stationary towers, and CBP agent vehicles. It consists of design, implementation, integration, installation, and maintenance services for the SBInet Common Operating Picture (COP).
