Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Leidos, Inc.

Approved: December 17, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2019

Leidos, Inc. provides Integrated Logistics Support (“ILS”) Services for Passenger Screening Program/Airport Checkpoint Security Equipment (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of maintenance and technical services that ensure screening equipment installed throughout the United States both functions properly and are available to detect threat items. The Technology includes corrective and preventive maintenance, support services and other duties specified under the requirements outlined in the Transportation Security Administration’s ILS Contract Number HSTS04-13-C-CT3067.


Federal Forwarding Company (d/b/a Secor Group Global Logistics)

Federal Forwarding Company (d/b/a Secor Group Global Logistics) provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology is a Certified Cargo Screening Facility, designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


Science Applications International Corporation (“SAIC”)

Science Applications International Corporation (“SAIC”) provides Security System Integration Services (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of services that include the design, engineering, installation, and support of integrated electronic security systems. The Technology also includes all related technical documentation and manuals and customer training, as well as the qualified personnel used to perform these services.


Professional Security Consultants, Inc.

Approved: December 05, 2013 | Expires: December 31, 2018

Professional Security Consultants, Inc. provides PSC Security Guard Services for Commercial Shopping Malls (the “Technology”). The Technology consists of trained unarmed security personnel and security program management. The Technology provides enhanced protection, deterrence, and response to terrorist acts against shopping centers whether perpetrated by use of explosives or through active-shooter incidents. The Technology also includes policies and procedures for recruiting, screening, and hiring of employees.


Dispersive Solutions, Inc.

Approved: November 20, 2013 | Expires: December 31, 2016

Dispersive Solutions, Inc. provides Virtual Dispersive Networking™ (“VDN” or the “Technology”). The Technology is a software platform that combines Peer-to-Peer networking, virtualization and routing functionality to combat hacking and Distributed Denial of Service attacks. VDN is also designed to prevent malware from extracting data from a network by inserting a virtual machine between the operating system and the network interface. The Technology includes a training and certification program for engineers to architect, implement, and administer VDN enabled networks.


National Football League

Approved: November 14, 2013 | Expires: November 30, 2018

The National Football League provides National Football League (“NFL”) Best Practices for Stadium Security (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of guidelines for football stadium security management designed to deter and defend against terrorist attacks at sports stadiums. It includes standards for non-game day operations, game day operations, and threat assessments and emergency plans. The Technology also includes the NFL’s Stadium Security Evaluation and Compliance Program, the hiring, vetting, qualifications, and training of the personnel used to provide the programs and services. The Technology does not include each NFL club’s or stadium owner’s or operator’s implementation of the Technology.


AdvanSix Resins & Chemicals LLC and AdvanSix Inc.

Approved: November 08, 2013 | Expires: November 30, 2018

AdvanSix Resins & Chemicals LLC and AdvanSix Inc. provides the Sulf-N® 26 Fertilizer Process (the "Technology"). The Technology is a process for the production of a less detonatable ammonium sulfate nitrate fertilizer. The Technology also includes all reports, recommendations, instructions, materials used with the Technology, personnel who manufacture the Technology, personnel training, and all relevant documentation.


Smiths Detection, Inc.

Approved: November 08, 2013 | Expires: November 30, 2018

Smiths Detection, Inc. provides Smiths Detection Service Operations (the “Technology”). The Technology is support services for the maintenance of its own X-ray screening and explosive trace detection systems in use by customers. The Technology includes on-site and in-house services such as repairs, warehousing, training, spare parts and helpdesk support.


Implant Sciences Corporation

Approved: October 31, 2013 | Expires: November 30, 2018

Implant Sciences Corporation, a Massachusetts corporation, provides the Quantum Sniffer™ QS-B220 Benchtop Explosives Trace Detector (the “Technology”). The Technology uses patented photonic and corona discharge non-radioactive ionization, ion mobility spectroscopy, and automatic self-calibration to detect trace levels of explosives vapor and nanogram quantities of explosives particulates and narcotics.


DSA Detection, LLC

DSA Detection, LLC, a Massachusetts limited liability corporation, provides Trace Detection Verification and Maintenance Items.
