Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Cascade Coil Defense Systems

Approved: January 21, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2018

Cascade Coil Drapery, Inc. (d/b/a Cascade Coil Defense Systems) provides GuardianCoil®. The Technology is a curtain system consisting primarily of a wire mesh and designed to absorb debris in the event of an explosion. The Technology also includes installation services, including the certification of installers and selection of vendors to aid in installation.


Universal Protection Security Systems, LP

Approved: January 14, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2018

SFI Electronics, LLC, Universal Protection Security Systems, LP, and Universal Services of America, Inc. provide Security Systems Integration Services (the "Technology"). The Technology includes systems capable of aiding in deterrence, prevention, detection, and can provide alerts to a variety of security threats including, but not limited to, disaster control, workplace violence, and terrorism.


The Boeing Company

Approved: January 14, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2016

The Boeing Company provides Passive Millimeter Wave Imaging System ("PMMWIS") Intellectual Property. The Technology is the intellectual property associated with the PMMWIS set to be delivered to and finalized by the United States Navy. The intellectual property includes: design specifications, prototype hardware, and a test plan. The Technology also includes the process by which the Boeing Company produced and vetted the specifications, prototype, and any modeling, simulation, and test activities used to verify the design of the PMMWIS.


Hope Pharmaceuticals

Approved: January 14, 2013 | Expires: January 31, 2018

Hope Medical Enterprises, Inc. (d/b/a Hope Pharmaceuticals), provides Sodium Nitrite Injection, Sodium Thiosulfate Injection, and Nithiodote™. The Technology is a co-packaged kit of Sodium Nitrite Injection and Sodium Thiosulfate Injection, for use in accordance with U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved dosages and means of administration for the treatment of acute cyanide poisoning judged to be life-threatening. The Technology also includes instructions for administering the Technology, package inserts, and all technical documents associated with the Technology.


Lockheed Martin Corporation

Approved: January 14, 2013 | Expires: February 28, 2018

Lockheed Martin Corporation provides Biometric Credentialing Systems & Services. The Technology integrates products (hardware and software) and services that provide a biometric credentialing capability that assists the customer in identifying and authenticating the identity of the holder of a Personal Identity Verification (“PIV”) card. The Technology includes the collection, maintenance, management, and transmission of biographical and biometric information for the production, issuance, and activation of a PIV card, the PIV card itself, and related training and customer support. The development of Concept of Operations (“CONOPS”) associated with the Technology’s use, as well as the use of such CONOPS in deploying the Technology so as to help ensure the Technology’s effectiveness, is the responsibility of the customer.


4D Security Solutions, Inc.

4D Security Solutions, Inc. provides Wisdom, a software platform designed to provide operators with real-time situational awareness information collected from a network of sensors. The Technology is compliant with Security Equipment Integration Working Group ICD-101B open communication interface standard and includes a user's guide, installation, training, maintenance, and help-desk services.


SafePlans LLC

Approved: December 21, 2012 | Expires: January 31, 2018

SafePlans, LLC provides the Emergency Response Information Portal ("ERIP"), a secure web-based system that improves preparedness by integrating critical incident planning, mapping, and training (the “Technology”). The Technology stores the customized National Incident Management System ("NIMS") compliant, all-hazards emergency plans generated by the customer from the templates. Plans can be dynamically generated into PDF format so they may be printed and/or saved on local hard drives.


Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc.

Approved: December 17, 2012 | Expires: December 31, 2017

The Anschutz Entertainment Group, Inc. (“AEG”) provides its Securing AEG Fans and Employees (“SAFE”) Best Practices & Guidelines for Security (the “Technology”). The Technology is a set of best practices for establishing security at AEG-owned or managed sites. The Technology does not include implementation of AEG Best Practices by individual venues.


Covenant Aviation Security, LLC

Approved: December 10, 2012 | Expires: December 31, 2017

Covenant Aviation Security, LLC provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities (the "Technology"). The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration’s (“TSA’s”) Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


CNIguard, LLC

Approved: December 10, 2012 | Expires: January 31, 2018

CNIguard, LLC provides the CNI2000W and the CNI2000WL Intruder Detection System. The Technology is wired or wireless intruder detection system for protecting access to treated water via hatches typically deployed at water treatment works or service reservoirs. The system can integrate with existing SCADA (Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition) infrastructures and signal alarm conditions independently using SMS text messaging via cellular networks. The Technology also includes the installation of the sensing network.
