Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Approved: March 12, 2010 | Expires: April 30, 2013

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey has undertaken an initiative that has been publically designated as the "PATH Tunnel Erosion Protection" Project. The Project involves the installation of a Technology designed by the Port Authority, which will be placed on the riverbed above the public transportation tunnels and is designed to mitigate certain damage to the tunnels. The Technology also includes selection of the subcontractors responsible for the manufacturing and implementation of the Technology.


World Courier, Inc.

World Courier, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities. The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, are secure facilities established in accordance with directives issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the screening and securing of cargo which will be transported on passenger aircraft. The Technology includes, in accordance with TSA directives, maintaining a security plan that limits access to secure cargo screening areas, training and vetting employees in accordance with TSA guidance, adherence to all TSA-specified chain of custody rules for this cargo, and use of TSA-approved methods and/or equipment for the screening of cargo. The Technology is limited to only those locations in possession of current TSA certifications for cargo screening facilities.


IJS Global, Inc.

IJS Global, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities. Analogic Corporation

Approved: March 08, 2010 | Expires: December 31, 2013

Analogic Corporation provides the Carry-On Baggage Real-Time Assessment (COBRA), an automated explosives and weapons detection system for the screening of carry-on items at screening checkpoints. The Technology uses volumetric Computer Tomography (CT)-based X-rays and detection algorithms to scan objects, detect a variety of threats, and display high-resolution 3-D bag images for on-screen evaluation.


Electrolytic Technologies Corporation provides Klorigen™

Approved: February 16, 2010 | Expires: February 28, 2015

Electrolytic Technologies Corporation provides Klorigen™. The Technology is a modular chemical process system for the continuous, on-site production of Chlorine and Sodium Hypochlorite (bleach) at water treatment plant and chemical facilities. The Technology also includes System Operating and Maintenance Manual, site assessments (with computer-aided-design layout of the installation site), supervision of installation, field and acceptance testing (including standard system start-up and diagnostics procedures), training, and customizable service and warranty plans.


Limitless International, Inc.

Limitless International, Inc. provides Certified Cargo Screening Facilities. The Technology, Certified Cargo Screening Facilities, are secure facilities established in accordance with directives issued by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for the screening and securing of cargo which will be transported on passenger aircraft. Implant Sciences Corporation

Approved: January 26, 2010 | Expires: January 28, 2015

Implant Sciences Corporation, provides the Quantum Sniffer™. The Technology is an explosive trace detection device that is able to detect minute quantities of explosives vapor and particulate matter. The Technology comes in two models. Both contain the same patented vortex technology.


Rapiscan Systems, Inc.

Approved: January 20, 2010 | Expires: February 28, 2015

Rapiscan Systems, Inc., provides MVXR5000. The Technology is a non-intrusive X-ray-based device used to screen parcels, cargo, and/or baggage for the potential presence of explosive threats. The Technology includes: installation, integration, and maintenance services (including preventative maintenance as well as out-of-warranty service and repairs); training regarding technical use of the Technology; the qualifications of the personnel used for providing Technology-related services; spare parts; image interpretation aids; additional software (including threat image projection (TIP)); network management systems; management information systems; operator workstations; operator and technical manuals; and a warranty.


Lockheed Martin, LLC

Approved: January 20, 2010 | Expires: January 31, 2015

Lockheed Martin, LLC provides Gyrocam. The Technology is customizable, integrated optical surveillance systems used to survey an area for, and detect, potential threat items or people. The Technology can be deployed on fixed and mobile platforms, and can be used for land, airborne, or maritime applications. The Technology also includes are systems design and integration, installation, maintenance, and training.
