Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated Solutions: First InterCommTM System

Approved: April 06, 2009 | Expires: March 31, 2012

BAE Systems Electronics and Integrated Solutions provides the First InterCommTM System. The Technology is designed to augment the capabilities of the communications equipment of first responders. It enables communications between disparate radios and other communications devices employed by Federal, State, and local public safety agencies. The Technology also includes: installation, integration, training, warranty services, the qualified personnel, software upgrades, and technical manuals.


Brijot Imaging Systems, Inc.: BIS-WDS®

Approved: April 06, 2009 | Expires: August 31, 2012

Brijot Imagin Systems, Inc. provides the BIS-WDS®. The Technology is a millimeter wave detector designed to image suspicious objects present on a subject person from a stand-off distance. It can be used alone or integrated with other security devices to create a more complete security solution. Maintenance, warranty services, selection and qualification of distributors, spare parts sales, and all relevant technical documentation are included in the Technology.


Michael Stapleton Associates: SmartTech System and Explosion Detection Services

Michael Stapleton Associates’ SmartTech and Explosive Detection Services offers both the SmartTech Explosive Detection System (“SmartTech”), a remote system that allows for the transmission of X-ray images and video to remotely located bomb technicians for immediate analysis of conventional explosives and weapons, and Explosives Detection Canine/ Handler teams (“EDCs”), explosives detection services used to detect and counter conventional and peroxide-based explosives. The Technology also includes the recruitment, hiring, screening, and training of the employees providing these services.


IntelaSight, Inc., dba Iveda Solutions

IntelaSight, Inc., dba Iveda Solutions provides Real-Time IP Video Hosting and Real-Time Remote Surveillance. The Technology is a set of services designed to secure a site through the monitoring of a security system installed by a third-party partner of the Seller. The services include the Datacenter, Centralized Video Hosting, and Remote Monitoring.


Brock Solutions, Inc. and Brock Solutions U.S., Inc.

Brock Solutions, Inc. and Brock Solutions U.S., Inc. provide the Automated In-Line EDS Baggage Screening System. The Technology is a control and software package designed to be applied to airport baggage screening systems of varying complexity. The Technology also includes all related design, development, testing, and installation work, as well as, personnel and their qualifications, user training, and project methodology.

The Advanced Spectroscopic Portal (ASP, the Technology) is a fixed, relocatable radiation detection device intended for use in scanning cargo for radiological and nuclear materials. The Technology is provided in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Department of Energy (DOE).

Sonic Works, Inc. provides Inspector Bee. The Technology is sonar based remotely operated vehicle designed to detect the presence of underwater explosives placed along the hull of a ship. It is also capable of making high resolution 3-D images of ships and covering a one hundred percent of a target area due to it fine controls.
