Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Meridian Rapid Defense Group

Approved: February 06, 2019 | Expires: February 29, 2024

Meridian Rapid Defense Group LLC provides Archer 1200 Anti-Terrorist Vehicle Barrier. The Technology is a portable barrier designed to prevent unauthorized vehicle intrusion. The Technology also includes the Archer Field Tow Bar, Archer Hauler, arrestor cables, and training.


Locke Funeral Home, Inc

Approved: February 06, 2019 | Expires: February 28, 2024

Locke Funeral Home, Inc. and Locke Funeral Services, Inc. provide a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (the "Technology"). The Technology is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration ("TSA")’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


S.A.F.E. Management Group, Inc.

S.A.F.E. Management Group, Inc. and its subsidiary entities provide Security and Event Services(the Technology). The Technology provides physical security and access control, to secure professional and collegiate sporting, entertainment, convention, and special event venues. The Technology is designed to be used in conjunction with, and to supplement a client's existing security and emergency plans.


American Chemistry Council and its members and Responsible Care® Partners

Approved: January 29, 2019 | Expires: January 31, 2024

American Chemistry Council, Inc., provides The Responsible Care Security Code (the Technology). The Technology is a voluntary industry initiative for a chemical manufacturing facility security program established by the trade association. Compliance is mandatory for association members and partners and may voluntarily be used by non-members.


Synapse Technology Corporation

Approved: January 29, 2019 | Expires: January 31, 2022

Synapse Technology Corporation provides Syntech ONE™. The Technology is an automated threat detection solution that may be connected to and augment the capabilities of security imaging equipment. The Technology also includes algorithm and user interface updates, software updates, installation and integration, and technical support.


National Football League

Approved: January 29, 2019 | Expires: January 29, 2024

The National Football League ("NFL") provides the NFL Best Practices Program which is grounded in the NFL Best Practices for Stadium Security ("NFL Best Practices"). The NFL Best Practices is a comprehensive set of guidelines for stadium security management designed to deter and defend against terrorist attacks at sports stadiums (the "Technology"). The NFL delivers and implements its NFL Best Practices through a Stadium Security Evaluation and Compliance Program and through its Stadium Security Training Program, which are designed to promote the highest level of compliance at each stadium in which NFL games are played. The Technology does not include each NFL club’s or stadium owner’s or operator’s implementation of the Technology.


Atlanta Falcons Stadium Company, LLC

Atlanta Falcons Stadium Company, LLC, provides Mercedes-Benz Stadium Security Program(the "Technology"). The Technology is a comprehensive program comprised of physical and electronic security equipment, tools, emergency planning processes and procedures, and trained personnel for Mercedes-Benz Stadium, a multi-purpose stadium that will host National Football League, Major League Soccer, and other major sporting and entertainment events


Rapiscan Systems, Inc.

Approved: December 19, 2018 | Expires: January 31, 2022

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. provides Itemiser®4DX (the "Technology"). The Technology is a portable, lightweight, desktop trace detector enabling the detection of microscopic particles of a broad range of explosives remaining on clothing, luggage, or any other surface, which explosives might have contacted. The Technology also includes user manuals and the procedures defined therein.


Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Approved: December 10, 2018 | Expires: December 31, 2023

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey implements the LaGuardia Airport Security Program through a variety of procedures involving physical and electronic security measures, tools and procedures (the "Technology"). These efforts include development and enforcement of the airport’s security plan, training of police and other security personnel, conducting background checks of airport workers and overseeing security systems.


Phoenix International Ltd.

Approved: December 10, 2018 | Expires: December 31, 2023

Phoenix International, Ltd. V provides MagnumSpike! Tire Deflation System (the "Technology"). The Technology is a portable tire deflation system composed of an expandable array of interlocking, nylon slats from which metal alloy spikes protrude. It is intended to either to stop a moving vehicle that represents a threat or, alternatively, to detain a suspicious stopped vehicle. The Technology also includes all attendant technical manuals, hands-on training and training materials, and safety guidelines.
