Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

Rapiscan Systems, Inc.

Approved: December 19, 2018 | Expires: January 31, 2022

Rapiscan Systems, Inc. provides Itemiser®4DX (the "Technology"). The Technology is a portable, lightweight, desktop trace detector enabling the detection of microscopic particles of a broad range of explosives remaining on clothing, luggage, or any other surface, which explosives might have contacted. The Technology also includes user manuals and the procedures defined therein.


Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Approved: December 10, 2018 | Expires: December 31, 2023

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey implements the LaGuardia Airport Security Program through a variety of procedures involving physical and electronic security measures, tools and procedures (the "Technology"). These efforts include development and enforcement of the airport’s security plan, training of police and other security personnel, conducting background checks of airport workers and overseeing security systems.


Phoenix International Ltd.

Approved: December 10, 2018 | Expires: December 31, 2023

Phoenix International, Ltd. V provides MagnumSpike! Tire Deflation System (the "Technology"). The Technology is a portable tire deflation system composed of an expandable array of interlocking, nylon slats from which metal alloy spikes protrude. It is intended to either to stop a moving vehicle that represents a threat or, alternatively, to detain a suspicious stopped vehicle. The Technology also includes all attendant technical manuals, hands-on training and training materials, and safety guidelines.


Smiths Detection, Inc.

Approved: November 26, 2018 | Expires: December 31, 2023

Smiths Detection Inc. provides Smiths Detection Service Operations (the "Technology"). The Technology is support services for the maintenance of its own X-ray screening and explosive trace detection systems in use by customers. The Technology includes on-site and in-house services such as repairs, warehousing, training, spare parts and helpdesk support.


Lauren Innovations, LLC

Approved: November 19, 2018 | Expires: November 30, 2023

Lauren Innovations, LLC provides NaviGate™ (the "Technology"). The Technology is a web and mobile-based crisis management portal that provides an organization with tools to meet emergency planning and response requirements. Documents such as maps and floor plans of a facility can be stored in the portal for access during tabletop exercises and in the event of an actual crisis. The Technology includes hosting services through a third-party provider. Users are responsible for conducting cybersecurity scans on material uploaded to the Technology.


BOS Security, Inc.

Approved: November 19, 2018 | Expires: November 20, 2023

BOS Security, Inc. provides Screening Partnership Program Services (the "Technology"). The Technology is provided under the Transportation Security Administration’s ("TSA")’s Screening Partnership Program ("SPP"). It consists of trained and certified personnel who conduct passenger, airport employee, and baggage screening in accordance with TSA guidelines and standard operating procedures.


Morphix Technologies, Inc.

Approved: November 07, 2018 | Expires: November 30, 2023

Morphix Technologies, Inc., a Virginia corporation, provides the TraceX Explosive Detection Kit (the "Technology"). The Technology is a single use, colorimetric detector capable of detecting both trace and bulk levels of common explosive chemical families including peroxides, chlorates, bromates, nitroaromatics, nitramines, nitrate esters, inorganic nitrates, acids, and bases. The Technology includes operating instructions and a user training video.


Evolv Technologies, Inc.

Approved: October 22, 2018 | Expires: November 30, 2023

Evolv Technologies, Inc. provides Evolv Edge (the "Technology"). The Technology is a relocatable, walk-through personnel screening device designed to provide visitor screening. The Technology uses active millimeter wave technology, passive magnetic sensors, and optical sensors to detect concealed non-metallic, metallic, plastic, and liquid materials that could be used as a weapon. The system is used for visitor, employee, and personnel screening in various venues such as stadiums, performing arts centers, corporations, hotels, places of worship, and airport areas outside of the traditional checkpoint lane. The Technology also includes manuals and training materials.


L-3 Communications Security and Detection Systems, Inc.

Approved: October 22, 2018 | Expires: November 30, 2023

L3 Security & Detection Systems, Inc. and L3 Technologies, Inc. provides eXaminer Explosives Detection System and attendant services (the "Technology"). The Technology is a line of high-speed computed tomography scanners designed to scan parcels for explosives and other potential threat objects. The Technology also includes attendant manuals, checklists, and technical documents related to the Technology.


Global Elite Group, Inc.

Approved: September 28, 2018 | Expires: October 31, 2020

Global Elite Group Inc.; Global Security Associates LLC; Global Aviation Management Group, Corp.; and Global Security Consulting Group Inc. provide Aviation Security Services (the "Technology"). The Technology is aviation security services, including aircraft access control, ramp security, aircraft search, catering inspection and security, airport security services, employee screening, and security services for private air charter aircraft operators operating under the Transportation Security Administration ("TSA") Private Charter Standard Security Program ("PCSSP").
