Approved Technologies

The SAFETY Act provides two levels of liability protections for approval: Designation and Certification. By obtaining either Designation or Certification, companies obtain a level of legal protection in case their technology is ever put to use during a terrorist attack. See below for a list of approved technology certifications.

NABCO, Inc.

Approved: May 05, 2016 | Expires: May 31, 2021

NABCO, Inc. provides NABCO Explosive Containment Vessels (“ECVs” or the “Technology”). The Technology is a series of vessels allowing for the safe, containment, transport, and disposal of explosive devices. The Technology also includes post-blast inspection of units with a repeat-use capability, manuals, and all other related documentation.


Lion Apparel, Inc.

Approved: May 05, 2016 | Expires: May 31, 2021

Lion First Responder PPE, Inc., Lion Group, Inc., and Lion Apparel, Inc. provides Chemical and Biological Protective Ensembles and Liquid Splash Protective Clothing (the “Technology”). The Technology is a family of protective suits designed to provide protection for first responders from the results of incidents involving vapor or liquid chemical and biological hazards. The Technology also includes manuals and training materials for each ensemble.


MitiTech, LLC

Approved: May 05, 2016 | Expires: May 31, 2021

MitiTech, LLC provides the Safetydrape™ and Safetydrape™ Defender II (the “Technology”). The Technology consists of blast mitigation curtain systems. It is installed inside of buildings along areas covered by windows in a manner similar to traditional drapes, in order to lessen the number of injuries and fatalities associated with glass shards propelled by an external explosion or bomb blast. The Technology also includes instructions on installation and maintenance; certification of personnel who perform manufacturing, installation, and maintenance; and manuals and technical documentation.


K2 Solutions, Inc.

Approved: April 27, 2016 | Expires: April 30, 2019

K2 Solutions, Inc. provides Person-Borne Explosive Detector Dog Teams (“PB-EDD” or the “Technology”). The Technology detects explosives carried by individuals, e.g., in backpacks and/or clothing, by following the path of air molecules flowing from explosive material on a moving individual, and for traditional explosive detection canine team deployments to locate explosives on stationary positions. The Technology includes hiring and vetting of personnel, and policies and procedure.


Green Bay Packers, Inc.

Approved: April 25, 2016 | Expires: May 31, 2021

Green Bay Packers, Inc. provides Lambeau Field Security Program (the “Technology”). The Technology is the Applicant’s implementation of the National Football League’s (“NFL”) Best Practices for Stadium Security, resulting in a program comprised of physical and electronic security equipment, tools, emergency planning processes and procedures, and properly trained personnel. This covers the entire stadium property, including the seating bowl and suites, gates, loading dock, inner and secondary perimeters, field, locker rooms, area housing utility and mechanical systems, command center, and parking areas.


Acuity Solutions Corporation

Approved: April 18, 2016 | Expires: April 30, 2021

Acuity Solutions Corporation provides BluVector (the “Technology”). The Technology is a cyber intelligence platform that detects malware embedded in web and e-mail traffic. It uses models of malware derived from machine learning to rapidly identify previously unseen malicious files. The Technology includes customer training along with warranty and maintenance support services.


Tyco International PLC

Approved: April 11, 2016 | Expires: April 30, 2021

Tyco International PLC, Tyco International Management Company, LLC, and Sensormatic Electronics, LLC provide the C•CURE 9000 and iSTAR Access Control System (the “Technology”), which is a customizable, scalable physical access control system used to monitor and control human access to buildings, facilities, rooms, and other locations. The Technology also includes training and technical support.


Satellite Air-Land Motor Service, Inc.

Approved: April 11, 2016 | Expires: April 30, 2021

Satellite Air-Land Motor Service, Inc. provides a Certified Cargo Screening Facility (the “Technology”). The Technology is designed to aid in meeting the congressional mandate that 100 percent of cargo placed on passenger airplanes be screened. The Technology includes, and provides, screeners and programmatic personnel for the screening of cargo in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (“TSA”)’s Certified Cargo Screening Program at TSA-approved Certified Cargo Screening Facilities.


Chemring Detection Systems, Inc.

Approved: March 30, 2016 | Expires: April 30, 2021

Chemring Detection Systems, Inc. provides JUNO® (the “Technology”). The Technology is a hand-held point vapor detector designed to detect Toxic Industrial Chemicals, Chemical Warfare Agents, and a variety of low-vapor pressure compounds. The Technology also includes a user’s manual and optional training.


Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Approved: March 23, 2016 | Expires: April 30, 2021

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey implements the George Washington Bridge Security Program through a variety of procedures involving physical and electronic security measures, tools, and procedures. These efforts include development and enforcement of the facility’s security plan, training of police and other security personnel, conducting background checks of facility workers and overseeing security systems.
